2010...

Happy New Year! We are coming off a wonderful two weeks of celebrating the holidays with both the Myers and Walsers. We are truly blessed with incredible families, both immediate and extended. The holidays consisted of a lot of delicious food, relaxing, some intense game playing, and of course great conversation. Throw in four birthday celebrations, a day at Disneyworld, and a New Year's Eve trip to the ER (Dan's Thumb + Faulty Cigar Cutter = Awesomeness) and it was a trip to be reckoned with! It is always refreshing for us to be with our families; God has given us such a gift in them. They have had unwavering support with our adoption, making this journey all the more exciting. We are so inspired by what God is doing in their individual lives, and love to watch them be open to His dreams.

On the adoption front, we have several things we hope do get done in the next couple of weeks. We have some paperwork that needs completed (employment verification, personal bios, etc.), we both have to get physical exams, and we will have our first of four homestudy meetings. We are taking one task at a time, not allowing the amount of work in this paper-chase to get the best of us as this is only the beginning. Over the next three months, we hope to get both our dossier and homestudy completed. Once we get these finished, and they are approved by our agency, we will be put on the waiting list! We are praying that by the end of 2010 we will be bringing the youngest Walser home from Ethiopia!!! Sweet babe, we are coming for you!

"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed." Habakkuk 2:3

  1. So so good to meet you both!! Super sorry about the thumb. David is wondering when Dan plans on replacing his $3 cigar cutter his thumb broke. HA HA! We're SO glad its not as bad as it could have been. God is good.

Your sweet babes mama could be just finding out she's with child. I always think about those things in adoptions. I was telling Rachel about how much I thought about Silas before we knew of him. Going back and reading those things have been amazing. The timing of relinquishment, the timing of pregnancy, and even now praying for all of those things and the pain that comes with our joy of gaining a child. Adoption truly is incredible. Praying for you both, your sweetie babe, and your process. God is GOOD.

Oh and LOVE that Habakkak verse. I remember finding it during the grueling wait. Be blessed!!
